New This Year: Kingswood Peformance Centre - "Taking Amateur Golf To A Professional Level" A new and exciting development is coming to Kingswood Golf Centre. Always first to take the initiative, we have exceeded ourselves this time with the opening of a new performance centre planned for April this year. Our Facilities already stand out amongst the best in the region and the Performance Centre will enhance our reputation further.
When it comes to tuition, technology and custom fit services, in 2010 Kingswood Golf Performance Centre will be at the forefront of all, we will be one of the only clubs in Doncaster to utilise Flight Scope Kudu, a system that uses radar technology to provide detailed and invaluable information about your clubs performance within your swing.
The old adage, "a bad workman blames his tools" could actually be true in golf! Think about all those bad shots, it may not be your fault.... yes its true, it really could be your clubs!
Shave shots off your game without altering your swing! These are exciting times and advances in modern equipment and technology give us the power to put the right clubs in your hands!

FlightScope®, the world's first-ever 3D Doppler tracking radar for golf, is a premier portable indoor-outdoor ball-flight and launch monitor. Accurate, user-friendly and affordable, it is in use for instruction, swing analysis and club fitting around the world. The Flightscope is so unique as it provides extensive set of measured parameters of a golf shot. Unlike some other products on the market the Kudo measures the true 3-dimensional trajectory of the ball flight and ball spin is directly measured at unsurpassed accuracy in this field. The Kudo measures ball speed, carry, trajectory, spin, launch angle, club speed and club path.
The Flightscope is used at the Golf Performance Centre as an invaluable tool to enable us to fit the correct product to your game. It can also be used to enhance your golfing performance during a lesson!

    | MORE HANGTIME MEANS MORE DISTANCE | |
| A golf ball’s core compression and its cover combine to dictate the launch angle and the amount of spin generated at impact. Once the ball has left the clubface however, it’s up to the golf ball’s aerodynamics – its dimple design - to battle against the forces of drag and gravity, keeping it in the air for as long as possible and thus maximising carry yardage. |

The governing bodies have gone to great lengths to contain the performance of a golf ball; weight, shape, initial velocity; they’re all strictly limited. One rule even stipulates that a golf ball “must fall, under its own weight, through a 1.680 ring gauge in fewer than 25 of 100 randomly selected positions at a room temperature from 71.6 to 75.2 degrees!!”
Despite these strict design limitations, there are no specifications whatsoever for the size or number of dimples. They aren’t even mentioned in the Rules of Golf. Even so, those dimples do an awful lot more for your performance than you think. The moral of this story? Good golfers always play with clean balls! |

    | NUTRITION: A GOLFERS GUIDE | |
As energy levels decrease throughout a round of golf it can have a significant effect on your overall game play; decreasing physical performance, mental concentration, control, precision and accuracy. With this in mind it is of upmost importance that you start a round of golf with full carbohydrate stores, giving your brain and muscles a chance to perform at their best.
While on a day-to-day basis you should be eating a good balanced diet containing 5 portions of fruit and vegetables, on ‘game days’ a higher percentage of calories should come from carbohydrates (about 60% to be exact) ensuring that you’re keeping yourself fueled up. The majority of these carbohydrates should have a low Glycemic Index (GI), as they give a more constant energy release.

Whilst it’s vitally important that you fuel your brain and muscles with carbohydrates it’s equally as important that you keep well hydrated – but not just with water. Perspiration contains vital nutrients and those need to be replenished if you’re to maintain that energy ‘balance’.
That’s where a sports energy drink excels. Research showed that drinking 400 – 500 ml before a round, followed by a further 200 ml at holes 6 and 12, improved putting performance (particularly over the last 6 holes) increased alertness and reduced fatigue.

Quality should never be sacrificed in the quest for Performance, so the new Powerband 3.0 offers both. The full grain leather uppers provide incredible comfort, breathability and durability, which are all the while protected from the elements by a thin membrane, making the shoe 100% waterproof. Comfort is further enhanced by the inclusion of a sock liner and FitFOAM, which moulds itself to the shape of the foot for an even closer fit, adding stability.
This stability is further enhanced by a textured gripzone within the shoe (helping to lock the foot firmly in place through the course of the swing) and adidas’ own THiNTech technology, bringing you 32% closer to the ground for better ground contact, balance and stability; all increasing the effectiveness of your swing’s power.

Some golfers ‘live’ for the game, and are willing to do whatever it takes to help them write the lowest possible score on their card each and every day. The vast majority of golfers, however, play the sport because they enjoy the fresh air, the rivalry and the spirit in which the game is played. It’s just good fun!
These ‘enjoyment based’ golfers know very well that the odd ball is going to go astray off the tee, so a premium Tour ball is largely out of the question. Enter Pinnacle; the perennial leader in every category that matters. Straight distance, all-round performance, quality and value are at the heart of the brand, and they’ve just improved upon that offering with the launch of their new five-model family.
