Dear Members,

Declan O'Loughlin in the member member
 Happy New Year and I wish you all the very best from a sunny and warm Fancourt!
We have had an amazing Christmas and New year period here with lots going on and plenty of fun!

It all started with the Member Member tournament that took place at the beginning of December which also includes the prestigious Captains Dinner to end off the event!

Our winners for the men were Andy Elliott and David Gerson and the ladies winners being Anita Crocker and Madelaine Clargo.

 
Captains Dinner
We had some fantastic entertainment at the Captains Dinner and also a beautiful tribute to golf which was presented by Denis Hutchinson and Trevor Quirk. The Ernie Els invitational also took place a week later attracting some of the best golfers and sportsman in the world!

Feels Good to be Fancourt
We received great compliments regarding the courses and the estate as a whole, which we can certainly be proud of as members and management! Fancourt Branden Grace took the spoils as he came out on top! Fancourt members, Rurik Gobel and Chris Potgieter were teamed up with Johan Rupert and Schalk Burger and they took the team event honours.

GM Potjie Competition
Always a hit during the festive season is the GM Potjie competition that took place on the club bar terrace! Thanks must go to all the members that supported the event and everyone enjoyed seconds and even thirds as all 3 different Potjies were once again fantastic!

Greenkeepers Revenge
The new year was met with the Greenkeepers Revenge Mixed Competition which saw a change to the annual Cross Country Mixed, and was met with great compliments and enthusiasm. Thanks to Sonja Bland and Barry Broadbent for setting everything up with Gerhard van Rooyan, as loads of work went into the setup and organising!

The Fancourt vs George Challenge
George Golf Club will be hosting the annual Fancourt vs George Challenge on Sunday, the 24th of January 2016.

A total of 42 players from Fancourt can be accommodated (15 x men teams of two players and 6 x ladies teams of two players) via a shotgun start at 10am, with a late lunch being provided after the game in the club lounge.

- The format will be Better Ball Match Play, with one point for a win and ½ a point for a draw.

- The entry list will be available on the Notice board across from the Shoe room.
