The first month of 2016 is ticked off and we had a pretty good start for the year. Good rains and hard work means that the course is in good shape and we do have a few plans for this year to make some improvements on the facility.

The previous sponsorship of Vodacom on the driving range has expired and we are looking for a new sponsor to come on board.

The driving range needs a bit of an upgrade to level out the teeing area as well as improving the surround of the chipping green. All these small improvements help to build our facility to give members better quality for their membership.



I would like to make use of this opportunity to wish Santjie Kluyn our Catering Manager a blessed retirement as she will work her last day at the club tomorrow. She is going on retirement after 19 years of service at the Bloemfontein Golf Club.

Thank you for your loyal service and hard work through the years Santjie and may you enjoy and be prosperous in whatever your future holds!

If you’d like to send Santjie a message of thanks or well wishes, please reply on this mail and I will ensure your message gets to her.


 
Thank you to all members who paid their 2016 subs thus far. Everyone who paid before 31 December will receive a 10% discount in the form of club vouchers. These vouchers will be available from February 1st, 2016 in the pro shop.

Membership fees are to be paid before 31 January. Members who have not paid or made debit order arrangements with the office, will be blocked on the handicap network on Monday.



Please note that the Bloemfontein Golf Club’s club championship will take place over the weekend of 12 and 13 March 2016.

The Betterball Matchplay entries are open and anyone who would like to enter can call the club or enter their names on the entry list on the notice board in the club.

Once the entries are full we will do the first round draw.
