Fantastic Feedback:

This week, DGC was sent some fantastic feedback about Pure Motion Golf Academy’s Senior Coach, Sergio Dias. Please see below an extract from Jennifer’s email that she kindly asked us to place in this week’s newsletter:

Sergio changed my golf life!
A golf swing I can depend on, a golf ball that not only seriously goes further down the fairway but straight down the middle… Every time! Thank you Sergio!
Kind regards,

Jenny L.

 Charlene Willemse
DGC’s Halfway House Supervisor

Charlene has been working here for the past 8 years and has become a part of the DGC family. She has three children of her own and loves working with people.

When asked what the favourite part of her job is, she commented that she “loves everything”! Charlene has always lived in the Western Cape and knows the Jewel of the North like the back of her hand.

We love the fact that Charlene always brings a smile to our faces and we appreciate the fact that she is always willing to go the extra mile! We appreciate you, Charlene.

Water crisis in the Western Cape

The city of Cape Town is anticipating that the supply of municipal water will run out around March 2018. The COCT has officially put into effect phase 1 of the water shortages disaster plan. Water rationing has officially been rolled out in the city as dam levels are currently at 38.5% with useable water at 28.5%. Due to the critical nature of available water supply, all water users across the metro should expect water rationing which could lead to water supply disruptions. With this in mind your committee has decided to turn off the showers at DGC from Monday, the 11th Dec until further notice in an effort to help the city reduce daily consumption. This decision was not taken lightly but we at DGC can’t sit back do nothing to help and hope the situation will improve on its own. Thank you for your understanding.

Thank you to all our members that played and contributed to a very successful Pampoenkraal Fundraising week and a special thank you again to all our wonderful staff that put in many long hours making the week a success.

Please remember to not only fix your pitch marks on the greens and fill up your divots but all pitch marks and all divots! It’s your golf course so we must all make an effort.

Yours in golf,
Andre’

It is with a heavy heart that I must share the sad news of the passing of a Nancy Grabham’s twin sister, Mary, on Monday, 27th November 2017.

To lose two sisters in less than three months must be devastating, Nancy, while there is no way we can feel your pain, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Gladys and Mary have been a very special part of the DGC ladies society, with a generous hearts, always sponsoring our club championships and other tournaments for more than 11 years.

They will always be in our hearts.

Kind regards,
Florence Harding
Lady Club Captain

How many times are you playing a shot from 40 metres in, during 18 holes? For many golfers, it’s 14 times a round. For even the very best ball strikers, it will be more than you think. So control, greenside, is important to everyone.

That’s why SPINSKIN™ (a coating on the Z-Star, AD333 Tour and AD333 golf balls from Srixon) matters.

The AD333 Tour is also a multi-layer golf ball,
reducing spin for the long clubs, and increasing
spin on the short clubs.
If you’re not already playing the AD333 Tour,
take the time; take a round; to experience
the golf ball with the most spin per Rand.

There’s a lot of advice recommending where your eyes should be positioned at address.
But, even with the perfect setup, you shouldn’t always believe your eyes.
