Our course has evolved and proven to play differently for men and ladies. So, we have added ladies strokes to the new scorecards where the playability differs from the men's strokes. It is what it is! Our course is now 11 years old and despite (sometimes, because) the "staggering" of tees for men and ladies varies from hole to hole, the playability does too. Hole 9 is hole 9 and plays number 1 as the most difficult hole on the course. However, holes 11 and 13 which are always challenging for the men, the front tees allow the ladies a far greater advantage in distance and difficulty. We all know that our par-5's as a group, are some of the strongest par-5's anywhere. For that reason, they all remain lower strokes on the card. 18 remains the second most challenging holes for men while 15 is the second-hardest for the ladies. Here are the new cards for 2017 - 2018. Grant Leversha presents our 4th hole on the outside of the card. What a pic! Check out the new strokes and the new SLOPE and COURSE ratings More to remember! This was our best year to date in almost every way: - We finished our 114th home on the estate (55 are permanent residents) - Four more homes will be underway in the next two weeks - 12 homes are under construction - 26 homes are in the planning or application stages - We are financially sound with great lifestyle choices for the entire family - Our golf rounds featured golfers from more than 20 different countries - from Wisconsin to New South Wales - We moved up in the nation ratings to No. 7 in Golf Digest - The UK rates us No. 6 - The Swedish press rate us No.4 - With our members, No. 1 Don't stop yet! New events are listed below! Short game planning
How to better your short game without changing your technique
Over the years I have given many short game lessons. Pitching, chipping, bunker shots, putting you name it, I have given advice on it. Some golfers change their technique and get better, some golfers have good technique but still struggle around the green.
Why? It comes down to planning.
This is what I do when planning and playing a shot around the green.
1. Pick an area where I can/want to land the ball. 2. Imagine how far the ball will roll if I land the ball in the spot that I picked. 3. Choose a club that will give me the result that I visualised. 4. Make a few practice swings to get comfortable and to reinforce that I can execute the shot that I visualised. 5. Visualise the shot one last time. 6. The only thing I concentrate on now it the place where I want to land the ball. I do not think about the Pin! 7. Make a confident swing at the ball because I trust my preparation.
Most golfers do not plan their shot, it is mostly a hit and hope situation. It does not have to be that way. Follow these few steps and you will lower your handicap without changing your technique.
