With the aim of ensuring that all players are equipped with high quality and fully functional handicap cards, HNA will be issuing a brand new card, with a fresh look, to all affiliated golfers during the course of June 2018. This new card will replace the grey Srixon SaGA handicap card that is currently in circulation.

Importantly, there will be no cost to either the club or the player.

Here is a sneak preview of the newly-designed handicap card:

We are hosting the Seniors Championships this weekend. They are playing 18 holes from 11am on Friday (11th) afternoon, and 18 holes on Saturday (12th) morning from 07am.

Welcome everyone, and enjoy your golf.

Saturday the 12th is a BBBB kindly sponsored by KWV.

Wednesday the 16th is an IPS sponsored by the club. We also have the seniors joining us.

The draw for the 2018 Betterball Matchplay will be available in next week’s newsletter, and on the club's noticeboard.

Slow play affects everyone!
Below is a guideline of the time it should take to complete Par 3’s, 4’s, and 5’s.

Multiply this by the amount of par 3’s, 4’s and 5’s, at BFN for example and your total should add up to 4hrs and 31 min incl. of the halfway.

2hrs and 15 min is the number for 9 holes (incl. of the 15 min allocated for halfway, divisible by 2).

On a Saturday for example, in winter, the last time in the morning is at 7.49. Apply this calculation, and the last time will begin their second nine at 10.04, provided they teed off on time.

This allows the afternoon field to begin at 10.30 uninterupted. We all know what our responsibilities are in terms of playing a sponsored day, or on a Saturday afternoon.

I cannot explain how satisfying it is to set off a field, and to have your last players on the tee, ready to fire away, ON TIME.

This can easily be achieved by:

· Arriving at the tee 10 min before your allocated tee off time.

· Adhering to the set times per hole, as listed below.

· If you are ready to play, play your shot.

Please assist in ensuring that every outing is memorable, not only for yourself, but also for those around you.

As a standard, the time set for 18 holes is a 4.5 hour round. Time allocation is as follows:

- Par 3's - 12min
- Par 4's - 14min
- Par 5's - 17min
- Halfway - 15min

If you’re a moderate swing speed golfer, you still want a golf ball to offer
you performance everywhere, with no compromises.

The Srixon AD333 Tour is specifically designed
to give you distance off the tee, stable ball flight in windy conditions, stopping power on approach shots,
check and control around the green, and all
with the feel the best golfers demand.

This is a premium performance golf ball without the premium price. If you’re a regular golfer,
playing probably a 2-pce golf ball, then trial a sleeve of the Srixon AD333 Tour.
Check the all-round performance, but especially note the greenside spin.

We’re trying to help you make more 3’s on the Par 3’s.
Better decision-making is going to improve your scores.

Despite the increased amount of GPS data available, regular and inexperienced golfers still,
on the majority of occasions, come up short.

Even when a golfer knows the “yardage” on each of their clubs,
their misses are mostly short.

Simple Tip #2
Why are you expecting the perfect golf shot? What is your level of consistency?

 If there’s no trouble behind
the green, then ignore the
distance to the flag, and pick a
club that, when struck well,
will get you to the back of
the green. That way a less
than perfect ball strike has
a chance of getting to
the green. Rarely do even
good ball strikers
make perfect contact.

Where are the majority of your misses on all approach shots?
Would aiming for the back of the green (assuming no trouble behind the hole)
be a course management strategy that would improve your whole round?
Improving your performance on Par 3’s will probably increase your enjoyment
throughout the round. Think about improvement. If we can help,
