The heavy rains have obviously been devastating for us and for the other golf courses around us.

You can be rest assured that our team will be working flat out to get the course playable as soon as is humanly possibly. Take a look at the pictures of the flood and you will see how much silt they have to clean off the tees, fairways and greens – a tough job.

Just take a look at the before & after of the 8th green and you will see how much work is entailed in the clean-up process.

Putting Competition…
Join us today between 16h00–18h00 and have a shot at sinking four putts in a row to win a driver! Pay R50, get a free beer and if you sink a 3-foot; 4-foot; 5-foot and 10-foot putt you will take home a brand new driver!

The very second person to have a go yesterday afternoon, sank all four putts and won himself a Taylormade M2 Driver! Fantastic job Whillem Loots! (see picture below)

It's also Pizza Night tonight so why not bring the family down and stay for pizza! The kids can make their own pizza’s and we’ll have live music tonight!

Club Champs…
We’re giving you the Easter weekend to unwind and relax before you take to the fairways in Club Champs. Let’s make it an event to remember, so no matter how you play, just get out there and participate. Meet your fellow members and make some great memories!

As you know: -
7th & 8th April is for the A Division (up to 9 handicap)
7th & 14th April is for the B (10-17 handicap) & C Divisions (18 handicap and over), Ladies & Seniors

The top 16 gross scores in each Division will play in the Matchplay Championships on the 12th & 13th May.

Sunday Scramble…from Sun, 8th April
We are so looking forward to this fun event kicking off on the afternoon of Sun, 8th April.

The entry fee will be the normal greenfee plus competition fee and the handicap of the team will be the four handicaps added together and then divided by 5. Fractions will count! Call the golf shop to book your team on (012) 654-2111.

Beat Adam and Dale’s teams net score & you will get 2 free pizza’s after golf!

For the first time, this event is going to be open for male and female golfers, with handicaps up to 36. Please can we ask you to distribute the poster and encourage members to play. There will be different divisions and prizes for all the divisions.

Wingate / Waterkloof / Zwartkop Alliance
We have an Alliance between ourselves; Waterkloof and Wingate, which allows you to play at their courses as members. Please do remember to follow the Rules when using the Alliance: -
• Bookings can only be made by our golf shop staff so contact Ian, Joseph, Vusi or LJ and they will make the booking on your behalf. Please do not arrive at Wingate or Waterkloof without an advance booking having being made by our staff!
• Bookings are subject to availability and can only be made one week in advance for games Monday to Friday and Sunday.
• Bookings for Saturday afternoons can only be made the day before.
• Saturday mornings are excluded from the arrangement.

The Lions are collecting Bicycles – last week
If you have an old adults bicycle that you no longer need, please consider donating it to the Lions Club Centurion Liftestyle, a non-profit charity organization based here at the Club. They will refurbish it and give it over to someone who could really use it in our community. All you have to do is drop it off with Linda. Unfortunately we were closed this past weekend due to some really heavy rainfall. On the positive side, we have two long weekends coming up with plenty of fantastic weather ahead and we will be working like trojans to get the course re-opened for play.

We will have some great competitions over Easter, so make sure you call the golf shop to book your tee off times.

The new TaylorMade M4 driver has been the best selling driver this year. TaylorMade will replenish stock at the beginning of the month, so those of who are waiting for stock shouldn’t have to wait much longer!

You probably know how hard it is to find the short stuff from the tee box.
It’s fine margins at impact, so there’s an easy way to improve.


The experts continually tell us that without a good setup it’s almost impossible to hit a good golf shot.
They also note how little attention regular golfers pay to their setup. So let’s change that.
You’ve all got your smartphone. Let’s get those pictures taken!

 

 
Have a friend take a photo of you at address on the range. Check your alignment.
Check your posture and your tilt. How do your arms hang? Are you reaching or too cramped?
 

 
From face-on, check your width of stance; your ball-and-hand position; and your weight distribution.
Is your right shoulder (right-handers) lower than your left or are they level? What should they be?

If you want to hit more consistent golf shots, with cleaner, crisper contact, with the swing path and
face angle ensuring contact square to the target line, then invest some time into your setup.

If you send us the two pictures from the angles shown above, then we’ll gladly respond with some quick thoughts.
If you want us to take the photos and walk you through where you immediately can improve your setup, and therefore the quality of your golf shots, then
