July is Junior Golf Month!

Our juniors had a blast last week playing Junior Club Champs.

Wandre Snyman
may have won overall but you can be sure that each and every one of them had great fun – no matter what their skill level – for them it was more about playing the game than winning. Check out just a wee snippet here.

Congratulations too to Lea van der Merwe who was the runner-up in the C Division of the SA Girls Championship at Orkney Golf Club last week.

If you are concerned about your kids becoming slaves to social media and digital technology, read the article below in the newsletter and then consider enrolling your kid/s in our Junior Golf Group Classes.

We are committed to giving you an alternative activity for your kids to participate in and golf is something they will be able to do for the rest of their lives.

We loved this letter Golf RSA asked the PGA to send out to their members this week highlighting the good that clubs do with Juniors – exactly the point we are trying to get across through our newsletter – check it out here

The South African Golf Cruise Classic - 31st March to 6th April 2020

You may have seen yesterday that Denis Hutchinson & I have been asked to be a part of next year’s South African Golf Cruise Classic. It sounds like a fantastic event which you might want to consider being a part of it. Maybe we can get a group from Zwartkop to join us?

It’s a week on a luxury Cruise Ship, the MSC Orchestra, traveling from Durban to Port Elizabeth and Cape Town, playing golf along the way. The golf courses on the list include Mount Edgecombe, Durban Country Club and Zimbali; Port Elizabeth Golf Club, Wedgewood; Humewood; Royal Cape, Erinvale and De Zalze.

They have thought of everything to keep you entertained, including Hutch & I giving you some tips to help your golf game; comedian Jason Goliath to keep you laughing and celebrity DJ, Kagiso Mabalane (DJ Milkshake) to keep you dancing – both on and off the golf course. Add to that the luxury spa onboard, duty free shopping, live music and theatre shows and so much more.

Practice with purpose in July…

“I want to thank you for the Practice Club initiative. I have been coming since mid-March and have found the sessions not only most enjoyable but most beneficial. Your and Justin’s “tweaking” but not radically changing everything has helped me to play with much more confidence and I no longer dread bunkers, chipping over them or 50 metre pitches. My long game has also improved and my handicap has come down by 5 shots. See you next Wednesday.”

Les Labuschagne

Join Elsabe and Justin every Wednesday from 12h00 – 13h00 in July as they focus on putting & driving.

Adult Group Lessons

Ian and Johan took some time out on Saturday to introduce four ladies from Mercedes Benz to the game of golf. Centre of Gravity (CoG) matters

So much written hype

How often do you read about amazing new driver crowns or faces that allow the CoG in any club to be made lower and deeper? They promise “easier launch” and “greater distance”.

The authors of these shrieking product headlines are right, but the definition of deeper or lower is marginal. A Golf Spy analysis revealed that the difference in CoG location between the CoG in a Titleist D2 Driver and a Callaway GBB Epic Driver (depending on setup) was less than 2mm!

Fix your millimetres and metres
Get every metre off the tee your potential deserves. Come and have a tee shot assessment and let's see how we can add 20, 30 and even more metres to your tee shots.

Who is XXIO for?

A better life for them

Have we reached a crisis point?

Our children are becoming slaves to social media. A 2016 study in North America concluded that the AVERAGE number of social messages a teenage girl processes in a day is 1,700. Yes, seventeen hundred. Unbelievable, isn’t it?

How do you process SEVENTEEN HUNDRED messages per day and do everything else? You need the hieroglyphics of the 21st century.

Let us add balance to their lives
Have your child enroll into one of our group sessions to learn to play golf, and we’ll have them outdoors, interacting, learning new skills, and having a whole stack of fun they can take out onto the golf course. They won’t stop playing computer games, but for a couple of hours each time we’ll have them off the phone, out from in front of the screen, engaging in fun activity.
