To the new World Handicap System
For those of you that are looking forward to the new handicap system, the wait is nearly over. Over the next few days, the handicaps will all be switched from GHIN to the World Handicap System. Once the system is updated, you will have a few steps to follow to be up to date and ready to go for when our golf gets kicking again here in KC. See the steps listed below and let me know if you have any questions. - All GHIN products will be unavailable from January 1st through January 5th including the mobile app, kiosk posting, and eClub online join/renew
- Save any scores made in an area observing an active season during January 1-5 and post them on January 6th
- All your score history will be migrated to the World Handicap System during this downtime
- You will receive your first WHS Handicap Index on January 6th
- Make sure to update your GHIN mobile app on January 6th
- Use the app or a golf shop kiosk to determine your new Course Handicap starting on January 6th
- If you have an eGolfer profile and have been keeping stats by posting hole-by-hole scores on www.ghin.com, those stats cannot be transferred to the new World Handicap System – make sure to log in and print any stat reports you would like before the 10:00pm CST on Tuesday, December 31st

The World Handicap System
We continue with updates on the changes for the new World Handicap System. This week we talk about course rating and slope. These areas have not changed dramatically with the new system, but they are commonly misunderstood, and getting a better explanation of them is always great.
