NO SHOWS
As we are all aware, golf is perhaps the most popular sport at the moment due to Covid-19 regulations. Our tee sheets are full every weekend and trying to get a tee off time a few days before the weekend, is really difficult. If you are booked to play, irrespective of what day of the week it may be, and you can’t make your tee off time, please cancel your tee off time with the Club as soon as possible. Failing to cancel can lead to a No-Show Penalty as per the Golf Club’s bye-laws. Cancellations can be made by either calling the Club or via email. Not arriving for your tee off time does affect the other players as they might end up being a 3-Ball or 2-Ball in the middle of the field and this also is a disadvantage when playing in Club Competitions.
Cancellation Procedure:
a. The Club reserves the right to impose a cancellation fee of up to R250 for any tee-times booked in peak times (as determined by the Club), which are cancelled within 24 hours regardless of whether a member made the booking and/or cancellation.
b. The Club reserves the right to impose a no-show fee of up to R500 for any tee-times booked in peak times (as determined by the Club), where the member failed to show up regardless of whether the member made the booking and/or cancellation.
PACE OF PLAY AND COURSE CARE
We have seen a big improvement over the last month with regards to Pace of Play and general course care on our courses. We would like to thank you for your support and we will continue to provide feedback and tips on how to improve on course care and pace of play.
Ready golf is probably the best and easiest way to speed up play. As we mentioned, ready golf can be applied during every round except when playing a Matchplay format.
• Hitting a shot when safe to do so, if a player farther away faces a challenging shot and is taking time to assess their options
• Shorter hitters playing first from the tee or fairway if longer hitters have to wait
• Hitting a tee shot if the person with the honour is delayed in being ready to play
• Hitting a shot before helping someone to look for a lost ball
• Putting out even if it means standing close to someone else’s line
• Hitting a shot if a person who has just played from a greenside bunker is still farthest from the hole, but is delayed due to raking the bunker
• When a player’s ball has gone over the back of a green, any player closer to the hole, but chipping from the front of the green should play while the other player is having to walk to their ball and assess their shot
• Marking scores upon immediate arrival at the next tee, except that the first player to tee off marks their card immediately after teeing off
Everyone that played in the Newbee Golf Day on the 26th of February must please re-book.
Have a great week
