| 31 MARCH 2021 | ISSUE 26 | THE GOOD LIFE | On the Course | Off the Course | | | MEMBERS AND GUESTS | | | THE CLUB Dear Member, I hope this Easter brings lots of happiness to you and your families! Wishing all our members health, prosperity, longevity and peace. We have a few fun things happening at the Club over the long weekend, so come join us for a round of golf, breakfast or lunch and do not forget to bring the family. To all the families traveling this weekend, please be safe and take care. We look forward to seeing you back at the club soon. MEMBER FEEDBACK Good Morning Francois and Team, In my 40 years of playing golf, I’ve seen clubs and how they are managed. Been a member at CMR for 22 years, I’ve seen how they managed, mistakes and problems. I’ve experienced over the Covid time how members were treated. I believe that somebody that earns a compliment should get that compliment. Myself and my golfing buddies have been with Randpark now for four months. The experience of a club well-managed, the respect for your members, the care of the courses, the friendly, but serious reminders that Covid is still with us, the catering, the personnel, the newsletters, the info sent to us etc. With all the above mentioned, I would like to applaud you and your team. Thank you for all the effort you guys put into this so that we can enjoy our golf and the Randpark experience to the fullest. Thank you for letting us feel welcome at Randpark. Happy golfing, Francois We always encourage communication between our members and the Club. If you have any comments or questions, please don’t hesitate to either contact our CEO, Francois Swart at ceo@randpark.co.za or our Club Captain, Derek McGowan at captainslog@randpark.co.za. | | | We welcome all the new members and their families to Randpark. Best of luck to both teams. The Graduate and Junior Club Championships will be taking place on Sunday the 18th of April. Entries are filling up quickly and the field will be limited. If you have not entered, please add your name to the entry sheet on the member’s notice board downstairs (by the ladies’ locker room) to avoid missing out on our first Major Club Championship. Golf Carts We have seen a big demand for golf carts since the beginning of the year. As we communicated in the past, we do experience breakdowns within our fleet from time to time and we are doing our best to ensure the carts are up and running as soon as we can. Our current supplier did inform us that parts coming into South Africa is taking a lot longer than normal and this does affect the repair time on some of the carts as the required parts are on back order from their suppliers. With this being said, we did get a few carts up and running again as we managed to get batteries for the carts. Some carts are doing 36 holes at the moment. They will go out early in the morning, once they completed the 1st 18 holes they will be used again in the afternoon. We would like to remind our members that carts will be allocated as close as possible to your booked tee off time. Course Care when using a Golf Cart A reminder to all making use of carts to please adhere to the following rules: • Do not park the cart within 10m from the greens, stay behind the white line and proceed to the cart path • Avoid driving over wet areas on the course • Please drive carts with caution, especially in the rough • Do not park the cart in front of the green, this will cause players behind you to wait after you finished the hole • No more than two people are allowed on the cart and avoid standing at the back of the golf cart We have officially launched our partnership with the Pro Shop in store at Randpark. The month of April is a great month to do your shopping as there will be great savings on offer, with deals up to 60% off on ladies and men’s apparel, outerwear and footwear. We’re excited to see you in store. Everyone that played in the Newbee Golf Day on the 26th of February must please re-book. Autumn has definitely set in with chilly morning temperatures and trees are showing autumn colours. The grass growth rate has slowed down substantially and mowing rough has moved to mowing leaves. We also received a welcome 15mm of rain this week, which has allowed us to fill up all our dams and also sets up the course nicely going into winter. Sewage has been an issue on Bushwillow, we have finally got some assistance from the council and they managed to remove some major obstructions close to the 11th ladies’ tee, which was causing the overflow on the 17th. They still need to bring in some extra equipment as they couldn't clear the line completely, but for now the leak has stopped. | | Click on image to enlarge | Bring your team down to the Driving Range and have a bit of a golf party.
