NENY Section Scholarship Winners Announced
We're thrilled to share the news of 4 NENY PGA Section award recipients of the PGA of America's Scholarship Program. This year, due to available funds from the endowment, a total of $400,000 in scholarships were given, and there were 185 total scholarships awarded. There were nine total applicants in the section, and 4 earned $2,000 scholarships each.
Congratulations to the following: - Molly Arehart - H.S. Graduate headed to Gettysburg College in PA - David Arehart, PGA
- Anna Arehart - H.S. Graduate headed to Lynchburg College in VA, - David Arehart, PGA
- Fiona Fitzgerald, Sophomore at SUNY College at Corland - Gerry Fitzgerald, PGA
- Oliver Kivett, H.S. Graduate, headed to Colorado College - Jim Schouller, PGA (grandfather)
Please note: the PGA Financial Assistance Fund can grow solely through investment earnings and contributions from our PGA Members. Members are given the option of contributing to the PGA Financial Assistance Fund on their Member Dues each year. Your encouragement of their contribution will help us to grow the fund and, in turn, provide more PGA Scholarships to Member's children and grandchildren in the future.
Junior Tour Hole-In-One Alert
From Essex, NY, Tekla Fine-Lease scored a Hole-in-one at the NENY JGT Summer Classic #5 earlier this week at McGregor Links par 3, 18th hole! Tekla plays in our 13-15 Girls Age Division and plays out of Bluff Point Golf Course. Check out all of our Junior Golf Program here.
NENY PGA Hope - Runway Of Hope Long Drive Competition In The Works!
Keep your eyes out for the next PGA Reach NENY Foundation fundraiser event in the works. A long drive competition on the Fulton County Airport Runway! In conjunction with Fox Run Golf Club and set for Saturday, September 11th, please mark your calendars now.
Divisions will include: Professional, Veterans/Military, Juniors, Men's Regular & Senior & Women's.

Members On The Move
Tim Podeswa, PGA, has joined the PGA staff at Northway Golf Center. Tim previously worked at Dick's Sporting Goods and still teaches as a Golf Instructor for NENY PGA Section player development programs of Kids Play Golf & Kids Play Golf Plus.
