9 holes of golf in a simple, fun team scramble with any 3-5 people you want? Not a huge time commitment for an individual who gave so much to all of us in the NENY PGA Section!
It’s as simple as that! In memory of former NENY PGA Tournament Director Doug Evans, the Section is administering the first annual Doug Evans Memorial Family Cup event at Town of Colonie GC on Saturday, August 21st. Proceeds benefit the PGA Reach NENY Foundation to create and offer scholarships for junior golfers attending college.

Runway Of Hope - Long Drive Competition Fundraiser Saturday, September 11th at Fox Run Golf Course/Fulton County Airport
Take a moment to check out this excellent promo video promoting the Long Drive Competition titled “Runway of Hope,” which is the signature fundraiser for our NENY PGA HOPE programming offered for our local area veterans/military to learn golf for free! The airport runway is adjacent to Fox Run GC. We would love to see a full field of participants and supporters.

** ALS Pro-Am Date Change **
Please be advised that the ALS Pro-Am originally scheduled for Monday, August 30th, has been RESCHEDULED. Per the communication, the new rescheduled date still hosted by Schuyler Meadows Club will be Tuesday, October 12th.
Due to the increased number of Delta variant cases and as a healthcare organization, we have been asked to pause our events from August 1st thru September 30th. Although this recommendation came from Trinity, it was initiated and reviewed by St. Peter's Health Partners CEO Dr. Jim Reed and SPHP's Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Steve Hanks, who both agree that holding a gathering while there is a significant increase in cases would be irresponsible and with risk.
NENY PGA Junior Tour Season Comes to An End
The NENY PGA Junior Tour Championship takes place today and tomorrow, where the top Junior POY will be crowned for each respective age division. Our Junior Tour Series was jam-packed into six weeks of play, and our junior membership #s were up 24%! We’re very appreciative of all our PGA Golf Facilities, who graciously hosted our junior fields.
Big shout out to these top juniors who had a great playing season and earned eligibility into the Tour Championship.
Members On The Move
Dal Daily, PGA has ended his employment as Head Professional at Battenkill CC. He will be relocating to Florida in the fall.
PGA Tour Complimentary Access Update
The PGA TOUR has provided an update, subject to change, of their complimentary access policy for PGA Members for their upcoming events. You can now find this on PGA.org:
· WGC – FedEx St. Jude Invitational – Will provide comp admissions per historical policy.
· Barracuda Championship – “Limited” capacity with no comp admissions.
· Wyndham Championship – Will provide comp admissions per historical policy.
· THE NORTHERN TRUST – Will provide comp admissions per historical policy.
· BMW Championship – Will provide comp admissions per historical policy.
· TOUR Championship - TBD, still class B event and “limited” with no comp admission as of now – will update if/when this changes.
