The Club
Grade 8 pupil, Keegan Daws, recently took part in the Junior African Challenge International Golfing Tournament, as well as the Dunbar Cup at San Lameer Country Club. This talented young man played extremely well, and placed 3rd in the U14 age group. Well done, Keegan! We look forward to celebrating future golfing achievements with you!
Scratch League
League got underway this week after a two month break due to Covid regulations; our Scratch League sides all played at home. Our A-side hosted a very strong team from CCJ, and they proved to be just that little bit better on the day. Our A-side showed great character on the day, but came up just short losing 5-3. The A-side is currently tied 7th on the log, but we still have a few games left for the season and we know the team will bounce back after Sunday’s result. | |  | | | The B-side hosted Wanderers on Bushwillow. Our B-side continued their momentum from the last game, and secured a 6-2 win over Wanderers. The team is currently tied in 2nd on 4 league points after three games. Well done gents, let’s keep it up.
Our C and D-sides, playing in the D-Division, both secured wins at home. Our C-side hosted Heron Banks, and it came down to the wire. Matthew Kiewitz playing at number one only needed to either half or win his game. He showed great nerves and his experience paid off, securing a 5-3 win for the C-side. The D-side had a very tough game against Krugersdorp B, a team filled with old Pros and upcoming youngsters. The D-side took full advantage of playing at home and managed a 4.5 – 3.5 win.
We would like to encourage all members wishing to take part in Scratch League, to please come and meet with Rikert in the Golf Office.
The draw for Senior Club Champs will be done on Tuesday, the 7th of September.
