Dear Member,

Africa’s Most Advanced Driving Range Experience

We have been proudly sharing the progress at the driving range and are finalising the last few touches this week. The project was well-managed by the team from Inrange, the Coaching Professionals and Global Golf, and we look forward to members, their families and visitors enjoying the new facility.

When last were you at the rugby?!
Don’t miss the action at 18:00 this coming Saturday when the Springboks take on the British & Irish Lions. The match will be broadcast LIVE at the Club. There will be limited seating, on a first-come-first-served basis, taking Covid-19 restrictions into account. The Club will set up multiple venues with screens, drinks and food for members to enjoy a great game with friends. Great food specials will be on offer. Alcohol sales will close at 20:00 and the bar will close at 21:00 as per the current Covid regulations.

Telephone System

We have received reports from members about battling to get through to the Club via telephone. We are investigating the reason for this and will be making a few changes. We have added a reporting system to track calls coming in and will adjust the operation to ensure that we resolve this problem. We will keep you posted and thank you for the feedback.

Happy golfing,

We always encourage communication between our members and the Club. If you have any comments or questions, please don’t hesitate to either contact our CEO, Francois Swart at ceo@randpark.co.za or our Club Captain, Derek McGowan at captainslog@randpark.co.za.

We are happy to be back at Level 3. With the regulations being more relaxed, the rakes on the courses are back and players, at their own risk, are allowed to remove the flags on the greens. On the recently updated scorecards, we included very important information that all players should adhere to at all times – course care and recommended pace of play guidelines. The information on the scorecards are there to assist the players and to make the round more enjoyable for everyone. Here are some of the most important points on the scorecards:
By entering the Randpark Club’s premises, you subject yourself to the Club’s Byelaws and Code of Conduct.
The Club’s Byelaws include provisions that you use the Club’s facilities at your own risk of person and property and that you indemnify the Club against all claims against the Club that may arise from the conduct of your injury or death, from whatever cause, or that of minors in your care.
You are, in terms of the Club’s Code of Conduct, obliged to be respectful and considerate to the staff of the Club and other users of the premises, to respect and take care of the Club’s golf courses and other facilities and to see to it that others do likewise.
Play “Ready Golf” when possible.
Try your best to maintain your pace of play to the “Time Allowed” guideline on the scorecard.

Course Care

Repair your ball pitch marks on the greens. Please also fix marks missed by other players in the field. Find and fix yours plus two others.
Sandbags are compulsory. Please fill your divots. It helps the turf to recover more quickly.
Do not litter.
Especially do not dispose of cigarette butts on the courses. Use the disposable ashtrays we provide or the litter boxes at the tees.
Rake the bunker after playing out of them.
Keep carts on the paved cart paths where possible.
Do not drive carts onto the demarcated cart no go areas, nor closer than 15 metres from greens and tee boxes.

With all this being mentioned, it is important to know that we all need to play our part to look after the courses to make the round more enjoyable for all golfers in the field.

Please note the local rule for preferred lies will only apply in the fairways – if your ball is in the bunker, the ball must be played as it lies.
The past year has been very difficult for most of us and we’ve decided that the Captain’s Golf Day and Dinner is a fantastic way to start recreating the great Randpark Family atmosphere again. That is why we’ve changed the format to include the whole family and this day promises to be fun-filled and great value. Watch this space for more exciting activities to be announced! Contact Leanne or Gaby to book for golf and dinner!

The construction of the new bridge on the 8th hole on Bushwillow is progressing very well. The crane truck arrived on a very cold morning and quickly lifted the bridge steelwork into position. The concrete footings were perfect and the bridge slipped right into place. It is now being painted and work should soon begin on the walkway of the bridge.
