We are twin sisters and self-taught chefs, and we’ve created a space together which speaks for us and our love of food.

Housed in an original Cape heritage building, with a balcony bookended by orange trees, Between Us shimmers: immaculate flavours, ethereal flower displays, hand-thrown ceramics, curated artworks, and yet there is a quiet elegance to it all.

It's a place where the food is consistently spectacular and the environment familiar but ever-surprising.

We work closely with the farmers, fishermen and growers themselves to create menus focused on sustainability and seasonality.

Here we merge ethical practices with unfussy food you want to eat every day – all with beautiful simplicity and integrity.

Between Us is an all-day affair: breakfast in the morning sun, leisurely lunches with friends, a family dinner, or late-night tête-à-tête at the bar.

 Senior Series

Parow Senior Open – The Mampies Show

The 2nd Senior Series Tournament was hosted at the Parow Golf Club in Cape Town, which offered a picturesque setting and a relaxed atmosphere on a picture-perfect autumn day. The golf course was in excellent condition (playability and aesthetics), making birdies a plentiful prospect. The Southern Turf Management Company deserves recognition for its efforts to raise the standards of the course.

In a dominant performance, Brain Mampies (Royal Cape) carded an impressive 67 (-5), two shots clear of Jonathan Bernard (Clovelly), who carded a 69 (-3), with an unfortunate double bogey on the last hole.

Durbanville and TGSE qualify for National High Schools Final

Left to right - Adonis, Haasbroek, Walters, Rudder

15th May: A vastly improved Durbanville High School side were the comprehensive winners of the WP Regional High Schools Qualifier that took place at Bellville Golf Club. After finishing in a lowly 8th position last year, the school showed the rest of the teams a clean pair of heels.

A total of 12 teams representing high schools in the Western Province participated in the event. Each team had 4 players with the best 3 scores counting towards the team total. The top 2 teams qualified to play in the SA High Schools Championship taking place at Humewood Golf Club on the 1st and 2nd August. Durbanville High School as well as the runner-up, The Golf School of Excellence (TGSE), will represent the Western Province.

Durbanville High School’s Liam Adonis, spread-eagled the field with an opening nine of 34 – this included 3 birdies and a drop at the par 4 2nd. Liam’s next nine was a model of consistency – 2 birdies and 2 bogeys. The other players in the team that contributed handsomely to the victory were Heinrich Haasbroek (gross 74) and Henru Walters (gross 79). The other member of the quartet was Henry Rudder. The runners-up, TGSE, were ably led by Timothy Daniels with a fine gross 72. Romeo le Roux (78), Philco Venter (79) and Ben Booysen, a non counting 82, made up the team.

Although the team event was a comfortable victory for Durbanville there was a titanic battle for positions 3, 4 and 5 – a total of only 4 shots separated them, with Bishops (3rd), Wynberg (4th) and Milnerton (5th).

The players encountered a near flawless day at Bellville Golf Club but the course proved to be a testing layout on the day.

The individual honours went to Liam Adonis (Durbanville) on 70, In 2nd place was Timothy Daniels (TGSE) on 72,  Filling the top 5 individual honours were Gabriel Firer (Wynberg) and Heinrich Haasbroek (Durbanville) both on 74 with Nicholas Thompson (SACS) recording a 75.

 Masters Finals

It was a lovely sunny afternoon with no wind. You could see a sense of hunger in the eyes of the Durbanville team as they pushed to dethrone the defending champions, King David Mowbray.

From the very first tee shot, there was no guarantee who would reign as champions.

After raking in a few birdies, Donovan Dawson and Herman September came away with a convincing three-point victory over Elais Steenkamp and Andrew Cleophas in match one.

Cameron Johnston/Ricky McCrindle defeated Hugo Calitz/Clive Galliene in match two by a narrow margin of one point.

In the final match, Mark/Nick Tarie were victorious with 4 points over Graham Frazer/Mike Glasby.

This is King David Mowbray's second consecutive Masters Championship League title.

Enhancing the lives of our future generation

Outdoor putting area opened at Mary Kihn

A wonderful outdoor putting area was opened at Mary Kihn School for Partially Hearing Children on Wednesday.

The putting area will allow the talented golfers within Mary Kihn’s First Swing Programme to take their game further than ever as they now don’t have to travel to King David Mowbray Golf Club to practice their golf.

Central to the putting area are visuals promoting the values which players must abide by such as honesty, respect and good sportsmanship.

SADGA Chairman Enver Hassen thanked Nomads, Western Province Golf as well as Paintmaster SA and Synsport for their contribution to the First Swing Programme.

“As the old saying goes, "Many hands make light work’ and this spectacular new putting area is the product of Nomads, Western Province Golf, Paintmaster and Synsport banding together for the benefit of our First Swing Program,” said Hassen.

“Nomads have been ardent supporters of the SADGA for a number of years and this putting area is the 8th time they have had a hand in a FSP environment in the last 16 years which is nothing short of phenomenal.
I’d like to extend a collective thank you for this significant contribution towards the development of the next generation of SADGA talent.

A special thank you must also be reserved for Mary Kihn teacher Desiree Smit whose passion for the betterment of her pupils has been integral to the success of the FSP at Mary Kihn.

Testament to her commitment is her recent completion of the ADLF Sampler Coaching Course that has considerably deepened her understanding of golf coaching especially as it pertains to deaf golfers.

I wish the golfers of Mary Kihn many happy hours on the putting green and look forward to watching them take strides towards fulfilling their tremendous potential,” concluded Hassen.
