Well done to Mangezi Maswanganyi for his third win this year in the BSI 18-hole Premier Medal on Friday, 27 May 2022, played on the West Course at Royal Johannesburg & Kensington GC. Mangezi’s first two wins were at the back-end of Cycle 1, so we hope that he finishes Cycle 2 in similar fashion and brings home more ‘Ws’ in the next 4 weeks.

Congratulations to Grant Labuschagne on his fourth BSI Golf Junior Academy Medal in 2022, on Friday, 27 May, with a score of 72 on the West Course at Royal Johannesburg & Kensington GC. Grant has bounced back well and it is good to see him on top of the leaderboard again. Keep up the intensity and focus Grant as it is working.

| BSI Junior Academy students Pranay Kapur (from India) and Yaone Mokgatle (from Botswana) were competing in the inaugural Zimbabwe Junior Open last week. Pranay finished 5th overall and Yaone finished 7th in the girls section. |

Congratulations to Eric Ncube who was voted as BSI Junior Academy Player for the Month for May.
Eric won two medals during the month with a stroke average of 71,66. He won the Junior Club Champs at Wanderers GC, finished T58 in the Nedbank Junior at Gary Player CC, and finished 4th at the Woodlands Junior Masters at Royal JHB and Kensington GC.

Congratulations to Bernard Meyer who was voted as BSI College Player of the Month for May. Bernard won 1 medal during the month with a stroke average of 69.
He finished T36 in the Nedbank Junior at Gary Player CC and finished T14 in the Prince’s Grant Invitational. Bernard represented his province North West and was part of the winning team at the SA Country Districts at Sishen GC. Bernard is currently 19th in the Open Amateur National GolfRSA rankings.

Congratulations to 2021 BSI Junior Academy graduate and Order of Merit winner Michael Wallace on making the cut and finishing T55 as an amateur in the Zim Open on the Sunshine Tour two weeks ago at Royal Harare.
He followed that up by finishing runner-up in the Zimbabwe Junior Open held at Borrowdale Brook Golf Estate last week. |

| Heinrich Prinsloo - Club Fitter and Sales Consultant for Global Golf |
2021 PGA Diploma graduate Heinrich Prinsloo has been appointed as a Club Fitter and Sales Consultant for Global Golf, working at both Serengeti Golf Estate and Benoni CC. Heinrich has added to his PGA Diploma qualification by becoming a qualified Xact Fitter.
Mark Fairley, another 2021 PGA Diploma graduate, is working at Royal Johannesburg & Kensington GC as Assistant Professional in the Pro Shop.

| WMACA Athletes Against Child Abuse Awareness Campaign |
On Saturday, 28 May 2022, we hosted an awareness-raising event at the BSI Football Campus for WMACA Athletes Against Child Abuse. Our community and guests were presented with two highly informative, thought-provoking and emotional talks by Luke Lamprecht and Olivia Jasriel, one for parents, educators and coaches, and another for our youth athletes.
These were followed by a celebrity football match with the likes of Gavin Hunt and Matthew Booth participating. A high level of competitiveness was still shown by the more “experienced” players on the day. |
