I would like to wish all our members a great long weekend and enjoy the time with family and friends! Please take care when traveling and stay safe.
Good luck to the Easter Ryder Cup teams playing this weekend! Team South Africa took the honours in December so I am sure team Europe will be coming out with Golf Clubs Blazing!
Please keep the Natal golf courses in your thoughts and prayers, as they have been severely affected by the recent rains. We wish them all the best and good luck with the clean-up.

| The constant rain is a getting a bit ridiculous. We seem to be losing every weekend and Monday maintenance day. |
| The major project this week was the drainage in front of the 3rd tee on Bushwillow which is now complete. The area is starting to dry out but we need a few more dry days. We are also adding some drainage around the paving in front of the 5th tee on Bushwillow. The area has got so wet that the paving bricks are moving. |

| We mentioned the weather forecast in last week’s newsletter, warning members that we were in for some heavy rain over the weekend. A few funny comments were made over the weekend and here is the one that came out on top: I wish I could be a weatherman, you can be wrong every time and still keep your job. |
We are committed to providing the best experience to our members and guests through the tough conditions.
Winter is definitely crawling closer and closer. Temperatures are below 20°C, trees are losing their leaves and our days are a little bit shorter and our nights a little bit longer. We moved over to our winter timesheets and these will be in effect up until the end of August.
Please note this will reduce the size of the field, and booking over the weekend will become more challenging due to lost time. We will try our best to accommodate our members. |
| | Course Care |
As we move out of the growing season, the time it will take for divots and pitch marks to recover, that are not fixed, will be even longer. We would like to remind our members to please look after the courses and adhere to the following:- Repair your pitch mark and two others when on the green – especially in the front of the greens where most of the low flying shots will land.
- Repair your divot with the sandbags provided.
- In the event that the courses are wet, and you are making use of a golf cart, avoid all wet areas as best as you can. The damage caused by golf carts can be extreme.
- Do not drive your cart within 15m from greens – the white lines across the fairways short of the greens are the limits and players must not pass these lines.
- Where possible, please keep carts on cart paths.
- Please rake the bunkers – this is the biggest concern currently.
